One Health International Summer Course - deadline 1 April 2017

The application deadline for the One Health International Summer Course in Copenhagen is coming up 1 April 2017. Last year we had 56 participants from most parts of the World. Looking forward to seeing, who will join this year :-)

NOSOVE supported a keynote talk by Helene Wahlström at the EMOP XII conference in Turku, Finland. The presentation “Surveillance to demostrate freedom from disease” gave food for thought!

NOVA PhD course of 3 ECTS, organised by Eystein Skjerve, Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU)

Dates and location: 27 June - 1 July 2016 in Sandnes, Norway.

Course Description
The course covers the epidemiological aspects of diagnostic test evaluation (DTE) studies – from the technical aspects of planning, conducting and subsequently analyzing data from such studies, to the underlying assumptions regarding disease definitions, test characteristics and the implications of using a perfect reference tests vs. a latent class approach.

Description of the course content:
The course is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the basic concepts on the epidemiology of foodborne pathogens: Risk Analysis, Quantitative Risk Assessment, Outbreak studies. All the topics will consist in conceptual and practical aspects. The students will be expected to study some background scientific articles. Reading papers and practical guide will be provided before the course.
