The Nordic Society for Veterinary Epidemiology (NOSOVE) is an informal organization with the vision of advancing veterinary epidemiology. The volunteering board aim to fulfill the vision by providing courses and opportunities to socialise and strengthen the network among post graduate students, researchers and others with an interest in epidemiology. Events are presented through the society network (blogspot).
NOSOVE started in 1988 as a collaboration between the Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, and has expanded to include the Baltic countries, but welcome members and participants from all countries.

Post doc in Quantitative Veterinary Epidemiology at University of Copenhagen

A 1½ year position as postdoc in Veterinary Epidemiology with special emphasis on analysis of clustered on-farm biosecurity is available from 1 August 2016 at the Department of Large Animal Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

NOSOVE organizes an international course 
to veterinarians, epidemiologists,
medical doctors, biologists, media representatives, 
and others interested in the topics.

Time: Monday 18.07.2016 – Wednesday 20.07.2016
Venue: Koulu, Eerikinkatu 18, Turku, Finland

Participation fee:
250 € for the whole course, including lunches, coffees, course dinner, and diploma.
Or 80 € for Monday only, including lunch, afternoon coffee, and diploma.

Language of the course: English.
Preparations for the course: Voluntary pre-reading will be suggested, bringing a laptop is useful.

Welcome to the first conference in aquatic animal epidemiology, Oslo, Norway, September 20th - 22nd, 2016

The conference aims to bring together leading scientists, researchers and research students from all parts of the world to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of Aquatic Animal Epidemiology. It will also provide a platform for discussion about how to meet the research needs of aquaculture industry and facilitate interaction with stakeholders, industry and regulatory agencies for fruitful collaborations.

The conference will provide in-depth coverage of current and future epidemiological tools and their practical implications to aquaculture. Topic-focused sessions will cover but not limit to:

One Health International Summer Course in Copenhagen 2016

We are happy to offer the One Health International Summer Course again for the third time in Copenhagen in 2016. We welcome course participants with a wide spectrum of backgrounds to encourage the training of transdisciplinary systematic approaches and intersectorial collaboration to improving health at the human-animal-environment interface locally as well as globally.
A bachelor degree is required to be accepted for the course.

SVEPM 16-18 March 2016 in Denmark

Dear Colleagues,
we would like to invite you to join us for the next annual SVEPM conference in Elsinore, Denmark, Wednesday 16th and Friday 18th March 2016.

Note that SVEPM members can register at reduced price. You can learn how to become a member of SVEPM here.


It is no longer possible to submit abstracts for oral presentation, but SVEPM is known for high quality poster sessions, and we invite registered delegates to bring a poster. Information relating to registration of posters and poster pitches at the conference is available here.

Please note that a small number of conference bursaries targeting participants from European countries that are not usually well represented at SVEPM will be awarded for the 2016 conference.
The deadline for applying for a bursary is 15 December 2015.

The evening before the conference begins, young scientists will have the opportunity to network during the Young Scientist Event ‘How to make a good poster’ followed by dinner and other social activities.

The conference dinner will be held at the Kronborg Castle (the Castle of Shakespear’s Hamlet).
