The Nordic Society for Veterinary Epidemiology (NOSOVE) is an informal organization with the vision of advancing veterinary epidemiology. The volunteering board aim to fulfill the vision by providing courses and opportunities to socialise and strengthen the network among post graduate students, researchers and others with an interest in epidemiology. Events are presented through the society network (blogspot).
NOSOVE started in 1988 as a collaboration between the Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, and has expanded to include the Baltic countries, but welcome members and participants from all countries.

Exciting PhD position on leptospirosis epidemiology at the EpiCentre, Massey University

An exciting PhD position is offered at the EpiCentre, Massey University, in Palmerston North, New Zealand, as soon as possible. The research aims to isolate a specific Leptospira strain that was recently found to be associated with PCR-based urine shedding in dairy cattle. The programme includes the collection of field samples, isolation by culture, genomic description by whole genome sequencing, evaluation of production effects in dairy cattle, and liaison with pharmaceutical partners towards the development of a vaccine.
Candidates must provide sufficient evidence of English language and advanced skills in epidemiology (master level) and scientific writing. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview (by distance if overseas).
Applications shall include a letter of interest, a CV and transcripts of post-graduate graduation certificates.

One Health International Summer Course 2018

Deadline for application: 1 April 2018
The International Summer Course in One Health will again be offered in 2018 by the University of Copenhagen and Technical University of Denmark. The dates will be:
7 May – 8 June 2018: 5-weeks internet-based module
12 – 17 August 2018: One week on-campus module in Copenhagen, Denmark
The course aims to provide knowledge, skills and competences regarding efficient solutions to the multifaceted global challenges to human, animal and environmental health through cross-disciplinary research, education and collaboration between relevant institutions and stakeholders.
The summer course focuses on zoonoses, emerging diseases, and emerging health-related problems (drug resistance, toxins, pollution, etc.) and is open to anybody interested with at least a bachelor level educational background.
